A different subtitling!

That we at PlanetRead (the same team behind DesiLassi) have been successfully employing SLS(Same Language Subtitling) on filmsongs in India to promote literacy and provide reading practice is well documented in both the national and the international media. Listen to the recent podcast of our President Dr. Brij Kothari on the well-known The Kamla Bhatt Show.

But then, what about a different kind of subtitling our beloved Bollywood follows? Remember 1942? Oh, most of us weren't even born then you'd say. But do you remember 1942- A Love Story? Of course, you would. It is this subtitling that I'm referring to. Think for a while and you'll be flooded with instances of Bollywood films adopting such subtitles. Why do they do that? One never really knows. Maybe that our films lack humour and the makers of these want to provide us with that by adoptng such funny subtittles.

Shakthi- The Power, Bose - The Forgotten Hero, Tarzan - The Wondercar, Meenaxi - The tale of three cities are perhaps the first ones that come to my mind. Can you think of some? Wait, maybe we can run a small contest here.
